This
Garrett Showman's Tractor called 'Maeve' was built in 1918 and when straight
out to France during the 1st World War. It then operated fairgrounds in England
for the rest of it's working life. Then in 1995 Flynn Lynch from Blackrock,
Dundalk, Co. Louth purchased it and is still the present owner.
Trundling
along we have a McLaren Compound 'Contractors' Road Locomotive built in 1900
Works No 701 8nph. It was exported to their agent in Australia Gibson,Battle
& Co, Sydney on the 18th February 1901. There it spent its working life
until nearly 100 years later on the 29th January 2001 it was imported to Ireland
and is presently owned by the Glynn Family from Fenagh, Co. Carlow.
