This
is a Burrell Showman's Road Locomotive named 'Teresa' and was built in 1921
Work No 3871. The engine was supplied new to Sydney Stock from Ipswich. It
was later sold to John Cole of Bristol and renamed 'Western Pioneer' who used
it foe a further 12 years in showland. It was then purchased in 1992 by Bill
Barrack from a museum in Norfolk to be part of the collection at the Barrack
Steam Museum in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Here
is Connor's dad Peter Wrafter making sure the vehicle is safe. This is the
only surviving 6nph Garrett Showman's Engine in existence and was built in
1908,it is called 'British Hero'. Peter bought it in the summer of 2007 and
had it retubed. This year he is taking the engine to the 40th Great Dorset
Steam Fair to celebrate it's 100 year.
