Commer Karrier Bantam
Steam Rally
This youn lad is looking at a Commer Karrier Bantam built in 1966 and supplied new to Thames Water Board as a mobile compressor vehicle. Then McNamara's of Kircubbin bought it and converted to a breakdown truck. Sold on to Ronnie McCrea who has restored it and was being exhibited by Ciara McCrea from Ballyclare.
On the left is a Thornycroft 'Big Ben' built in 1953, it is ex-military 6 x 4 10 ton tractor with matching trailer, owned by Jeffery Minish of Scrava. At the front of the truck it reads 'King of the Road' but to me there is only one king here!

What is noteable about this photograph are the two vehicles. The one being towed is a three wheeler and the tow truck also has three wheels.
