This beautiful bridge which had spanned the sixmilewater river for nearly 100 years is now gone but is being kept by the council in storage. It was due to Health and Safety laws that it was removed and on that we will say no more.

This was the brickwork on the old bridge.
Now they are moving it slowly across the river which was in flood at the time.
Here they are lowering the new bridge.
Slowly does it nearly there.
Quickly the maintainence team bolt down the bridge.
The bridge was fully completed in 2005.
