The design picks up elements from the Antrim Borough Crest.

THE INNER RING

Corn - rural areas.

Shuttle - Textile industry.

The Round Tower - a link to early settlement in the area and a famous historical landmark in the town of Antrim.

The Castle Gateway - leading to the orginal castle at Antrim.

The Swan - a reference to Lough Neagh and the shoreline of the area.

The Alder Tree - in full foliage a reference to Aldergrove - connecting to the new corporate logo.

THE OUTER RING

The leaves fanninf out into the outer ring of the feature suggesting the blossoming of a new ara for the Antrim Borough also balancing the motto of Antrim Borough "per Augusta Ad Augusta" - "Through hard times to Prosperity" and emphasising the more modern context of the areas development. All the elements are drawn together by the movement of the background design and the drama of the string blues and and greens picking up on the corporate colours.
