The Present photograph shows the new bridge which the council put in place of the old one which was know locally as the 'Shakey Bridge', in my opion it did not need replaced just a bit of TLC. When you look at the Past photograph you can see what a lovely bridge it was, full of character, who lived in the two houses I do not know. The reason the bridge was built was so that the workers could cross the river to get to the mill further down river at Bog Head & vice-versa. The bridge was built by William Wilson & Co. Engineers, Lilybank Works, Glasgow.
