The two photographs below do not have Present day photographs as the interior is now a sports and clothes shop. But as they show an inside into life in the past in Antrim I felt they should be shown.
This is the entrance Lounge in the Masserene Arms Hotel, just look at the wooden wall panelling and the ornamental ceiling. Against the wall to your left you can see a beautiful wooden carved bench and chair. In the centre of the background is a Telephone booth which also has a letter box. Next to it are Weighing scales and then on to the stairs leading up to the bedrooms and the dance hall.
You are now looking at the lounge section of the dance hall in the Massereene Arms Hotel. To the right of the picture there is a piano for the music with two sets of lights attached to either side for the pianist to see with. Look closely to to the right of the fireplace and you will see what looks like a black spot, in fact it was a push bell which you pressed to get a waiter.
