This
is Present day High street the main street in Antrim town. Same as it was
in days gone by but not as many shops and no Hotels. In the Past photograpgh
you can see one of the hotels on your left the 'Lough Neagh Hotel'. Between
the First nd Second World Wars the five hotels that where here in High street
provided package holidays for the Lancashire mill workers but they also had
a high class clientel as well staying in the hotels. They used to run tours
and excursion trips from here all over the North and South of Ireland and
a lot of the buses were open topped! Can you imagine what it must have been
like with the weather we get.
