. . . .
All
the photos below are by Gary Shaw.
This
is the top section of the Cupola back, beautifully restored and as you can
see in the below photograph the lead work is excellent.
Here
you can see how well the archway stonework has cleaned up. The walls have
their scratchcoat on. This is so that when they come to render the finish
on the wall it will grip quite easily.
Here
is one part of the wall that has been rendered, it is a lime render
this is specified by NIEA Historic Buildings Unit as it is close to the original
finish etc. It is about to be painted (contractor has been waiting for an
increase in the ambient air temperature). The type of paint specified allows
the render to breathe. Not all of the exterior will be painted
the repaired and cleaned stonework around arches and quoins will be
left.
Here
we are inside the Court house and this is going to be the Auditorium.
These
two photographs lets you see the vast amount of work going on that you will
never see but has to be done. This is time consuming and although the outside
looks finished, the inside is far from it.
This
is the Plant room and just waiting to be wired and connected up to the mains
is this electrical box.
