This is the top section of the Cupola back, beautifully restored and as you can see in the below photograph the lead work is excellent.
Here you can see how well the archway stonework has cleaned up. The walls have their scratchcoat on. This is so that when they come to render the finish on the wall it will grip quite easily.
Here is one part of the wall that has been rendered, it is a lime render – this is specified by NIEA Historic Buildings Unit as it is close to the original finish etc. It is about to be painted (contractor has been waiting for an increase in the ambient air temperature). The type of paint specified allows the render to ‘breathe’. Not all of the exterior will be painted – the repaired and cleaned stonework around arches and quoins will be left.
Here we are inside the Court house and this is going to be the Auditorium.
These two photographs lets you see the vast amount of work going on that you will never see but has to be done. This is time consuming and although the outside looks finished, the inside is far from it.
This is the Plant room and just waiting to be wired and connected up to the mains is this electrical box.
