Lough
Neagh Hotel was different to most other hotels in Antrim in that it had shops
on the ground floor instead of a bar. The centre door was the main entrance
to the hotel and the other two door were for the shops. At the moment I cannot
give any more history on the hotel as no more information is available. The
two shops were owned by J.Murphy the jeweller, and in the one on the right
he sold every souvenir that you could get of Antrim, he even had ones in Irish
Marble and Irish Bog Oak. In the window of the shop on the left he is selling
Fireworks by Standard a well known make in those days, so the photograph must
have been taken some time in October.
