This is a Present day photograph of Bairds and there has been a building on this site since 1605 which was then renovated in 1905. It became the First Pub, Eating House and Stabling for houses in Antrim and was then owned by three brothers called Ferguson. They had returned to Antrim from America after going there because of the Famine. The first undertakers in the building were called Blair and Baird, then in 1860 it was owned by James Baird and they had horses until 1950. Jim Baird told me when they had the horses they had to be in the yard at 5am to get the horses ready. When you look at the Past photo you can see that the building has changed greatly.
